As a full-service custom contract manufacturer, we provide product design along with 3D printing, prototyping, and testing of your component requirements - all under one roof in Roanoke, Virginia. Our vertically integrated facility encompasses over 115,000 square feet of manufacturing, cleanroom, and engineering space. We also run three working shifts, stocking programs and on time delivery programs to ensure that your product gets to market as soon as possible. As an ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer we keep quality initiatives at the forefront of everything we do. We do everything, so you don’t have to. About#
In 1949, we started as Plastic Products Company, a small company that focused on making hearing aid cords. ‍ In 1987, we changed direction and became Plastics One Inc and moved to our current location in SW County of Roanoke, Virginia. We work directly with OEMs all over the world creating injection molded products and interconnect cables that are used by the medical industry. Our target market hasn’t changed, but our additive manufacturing focus has expanded and allowed us to continue to grow our customer base. This expansive location houses all departments under one roof- R&D, Engineering, Toolroom, Production, Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Accounting, and Marketing work together as one team to bring our customers the highest service. ‍
In 2001, we became employee-owned and empowered our employees by sharing the profits.
In 2013, we became ISO 13485:2003 certified, an additional quality management registration to the ISO 9001:1994 certification that we were awarded in 2000. This registration allows us to manufacture devices for the medical industry. Today we are certified to ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 9001:2015.
Our dedicated employee-owners are focused on putting our customers first by incorporating technological advancements in our manufacturing processes. P1 Technologies has added impressive 3D printing machines used to print conceptual parts for customers to review before committing to large-scale production. We’ve added cleanrooms for the manufacturing of medical devices and medical pouch sealing. We’ve also incorporated a new type of employee, a cobot (robot)- these robots work directly with our production team for handling small manufactured parts.
2019 was an exciting year for Plastics One. The company celebrated its 70th anniversary and announced a change to our name, transitioning to P1 Technologies. The new name reinforces our commitment to growth while maintaining our roots. Currently, there are 350 employee-owners at P1 Technologies, all experts in their fields and eager to make a difference by providing high-quality parts to the world.
