AIRSTIM™

AIRSTIM™

Provide air puff stimulation to the animal’s sensory pathways with the freestanding AIRSTIM™ system. To deliver stimulation as a series of air puffs, just adjust the timing and set the duration of each puff and inter-puff interval.

AIRSTIM™ will connect to a computer using your supplied interface and software, and was designed to deliver air puffs through two independent outputs—offering you greater flexibility in delivery of the unconditioned stimulus. You will need only to provide the air delivery tubes or another air delivery mechanism.

The system offers a regulator that is used for fine adjustment below 60 psi, however you will need to supply the air source with a regulator to reduce incoming pressure to 60 psi or lower.

AIRSTIM™ w/Software

Now you can control two individual air puff outputs with the click of a mouse using the Air Stim with Software System. The system requires no programming knowledge—just plug in a USB cable, then point-and-click to get started. The Air Stim system is also highly portable. Move it from site to site as needed.

The SDI AIRSTIM with Software System provides air puff stimulation to the animal’s sensory pathways in an easily portable, freestanding unit.  Deliver stimulation as a series of air puffs, with puff duration and inter-puff interval controlled by a simple script file in the software.

Using a standard USB interface, connect the AIRSTIM with Software System to your computer, point-and-click to develop a simple script for delivering the air puffs, and run the test.  You can also save your script files for reuse later-making future testing even easier.

Offering two independent air delivery outputs, the regulator on the AIRSTIM with Software System is used for fine adjustment below 60 psi.  To reduce the incoming air pressure to 60 psi or lower use a regulator on the air tank.  For delivery of the air puffs to the subject purchase air delivery tubes or supply your own air
Animal Stimulator

Animal Stimulator

The SDI Animal Stimulator can be used for conditioning prior to testing. Use the Animal Stimulator wherever pairing of light and shock and/or sound and shock are required. There are three stimuli: light, sound and shock. In addition, there is an auxiliary connection that allows you to connect your own device. The LED light unit provides very bright light with no heat. The sound is controlled by the computer sound card allowing flexibility in sound selection and amplitude. The shocker is a solid state unit providing constant current shock to the grid in a random pattern via eight outputs.

Programmable Animal Shocker

Programmable Animal Shocker

Ensure your results are reliable by scrambling shocks to stop animals from detecting any patterns. The SDI Programmable Animal Shocker system scrambles the delivery of shocks so animals cannot detect a pattern. The system is a multi-function, solid state unit that utilizes 8 unique outputs to deliver the scrambled shocks. The 8 unique outputs are designed to be attached to a grid floor with multiple rods.

Set your shock trigger and levels manually or programmatically-and for the first time with any system of this type, see the actual shock delivered to the animal.

Shock Level Tester

Shock Level Tester

Determine whether the levels of shock stimulation are appropriate for your subjects automatically and conveniently with the Shock Level Tester System. So easy to set up—all you will need to do is connect the system to a computer using the USB cable, clip on the supplied leads, turn on the software, and initiate shocks either manually or via software.

White Noise Generator

White Noise Generator

The white noise generator masks external noises that might affect your ongoing behavioral test—and is small and lightweight enough to mount on a laboratory wall. SDI’s white noise generator is designed to mask external noises that might affect an ongoing behavioral test.  The device elicits constant white noise with adjustable amplitude.

A compact, solid state unit that is small and lightweight enough to mount just about anywhere, including a laboratory wall—the device can cover up to an 8x10 room with white noise. For larger areas, simply utilize more than one unit.
